O papel do nutricionista na equipe interdisciplinar em cuidados paliativos: uma revisão integrativa

Introduction: According to the World Health Organization, quality of life is “the individual's perception of their insertion in life, in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns ”, In this sense, multiprofessional work in palliative care is essential for the patient to have quality of life, within this context the role of nutritionists is essential, as well as the level of clarification, the approach and the rapport, regardless of any diet therapy conduct to be performed, in addition to respecting the individual's will, guiding to strengthen their autonomy and independence. Objective: To emphasize the importance of the role of the nutritionist in multiprofessional work in palliative care. Methodology: Integrative review. Conclusions: The professional nutritionist acts through a fundamental role in palliative care, since the diet contributes to the reduction of signs and symptoms, in addition to constituting a bonding relationship between the team, the patient and their families with regard to the feeding.
