Abstract

More commonly known as brown spider, the arachinid of the genus Loxosceles, can be found on all over the country, nonetheless is more commom on the south region of Brazil. .

They are non agressive animals with night habbits and usually bites when pressed against the body. For that reason, bites happen during sleep or by dressing up and they are located in covered body parts like groin and trunk. The arachnid bite is painless and therefore isn't felt by the patient.

The symptoms are usually local and begin slowly and gradually in 24 to 72 hours. The most common are rash, pain and edema.
