“Nutritional guidelines for kidney disease patients during the SARS-CoV2 pandemic: development of information folder”

Introduction: SARS-CoV2 is na emerging repiratory vírus that a public health challenge. Most fatal cases of the disease are associated with the presence of comorbidities such as chronic kidney disease (CKD). Objective: To create an information folder for renal patients undergoing renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) on the importance of healthy eating and good habits in strengthening and maintaining the imune system for the prevention of COVID-19. Methods: The information folder was developed in two stages: literature review and preparation of the folder. Results: Production of a folder containing information on food and immunity, regular sleep routine, good eating habits and shopping routine. Conclusions: This folder provides knowledge to kidney patients about the importance of healthy eating in helping prevent and care related to COVID-19.
