Abstract

Dengue virus infection has increased in recent decades across the globe, especially in the Americas in the topography of the tropics. There are reports of multisystem infection, especially in severe cases of morbidity, however, according to descriptions and pathophysiological process of neurological involvement by the virus, they are not yet well selected and understood in the literature. We report a case of meningoencephalitis, whose etiology was the Dengue virus, in a patient admitted to the public hospital of the federal capital, according to the analysis of information contained in electronic medical records, confirmed by the clinical history and exclusion of other causes through discussion between clinical specialties.
