Objective: To describe, from the literature, the profile of publications on nursing in malignant hyperthermia. Method: this is an integrative review with guidelines from the Preferred Report Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (Prism), in the databases of the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (Lilacs), Scientific Electronic Library Online ( SciELO), and Online Medical Literature Analysis and Recovery System (Medline). The descriptors form “malignant hyperthermia” AND “nursing” and “malignant hyperthermia” AND “nursing”; with a sample consisting of eleven texts chosen strictly when referring to nursing in the context of malignant hyperthermia. Results: as a profile of publications, three thematic axes were chosen, namely: genetic susceptibility and risk to malignant hyperthermia; signs, symptoms and resources for intervention in malignant hyperthermia; and education and training for nursing professionals in the treatment of malignant hyperthermia. Conclusion: the preparation and training of the nursing staff becomes an important strategy in dealing with malignant hyperthermia. In addition, an incorporation of simulation-based learning, even into undergraduate courses, provides a consistent experience and increases patient safety.
