Abstract

ABSTRACT: Introduction: the rehabilitation of a spinal cord injured patient is still a major challenge for teams working in care and their support networks. Objective: to know the coping strategies to deal with the problem by the teams and support networks that work with the patient. Method: this is an integrative review with a time cut from 2016 to 2021 with a quali-quantitative approach. Final considerations: The research findings showed, within a set of internal and external influences, social determinants of coping related to family, caregivers, institutional or non-institutional health care, and a series of approaches to confrontations related to body image change, sexuality, religiosity, spirituality, emotional reactions, time of injury and aging.
