Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the existence of a risk of psychological distress and delays in neuropsychomotor development in babies from 0 to 18 months of age, housed in shelters in the Federal District, in addition to relating the risk of psychological distress with delays in neuropsychomotor development. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative-qualitative approach, carried out with 6 babies, using the Denver II screening test and the IRDI as instruments. The results show that 83.3% of the sample presented a risk of psychological distress and 50% presented developmental delay, and in all babies with developmental delay, also presented a risk of psychological distress.
