Introduction: Knowledge about the Covid-19 mortality profile, as well as the associated epidemiological and socioeconomic factors, is essential for health planning and assessments. Objective: To evaluate the profile of deaths from COVID19 in the population of the Federal District in 2020. Method: A descriptive study was carried out using secondary data contained in the official database of the Mortality Information System (SIM), made available by the Department of State of Health of the Federal District. Result: There were 3,100 deaths from Covid-19 in the Federal District in 2020, corresponding to 101.6 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. Mortality increased according to age group, with 75.1% of deaths occurring in individuals over 60 years of age. The proportion of deaths among males was slightly higher, corresponding to 58.9% of cases. Most deaths occurred in July and August (47.7%). Conclusion: COVID19 caused an increase in mortality in the Federal District. Thus, the qualification of information on deaths that occurred during the pandemic and the analysis of the health situation are fundamental in proposing public health actions and interventions.
